Following on the news of the acquisition of Marimecs Marine design and engineering. The MP Group are delighted to announce that, as per the 1st of September 2022, our management team will be strengthened by Hero Hettinga in the role of Manager Operations at Marimecs.
Hero brings with him almost 20 years of experience, having worked within a number of diverse companies and projects within the fields of Design and Engineering. Together with the Marimecs team and the management of the MP Group, Hero is looking forward to further develop the company and realise its goals and ambitions.
“I have on several occasions been professionally involved with the Marimecs team” Hero states. “Not only directly contracted to supply engineering services to a project, but later as a Project Manager outsourcing part of a scope to their capable team.”.

Marimecs has recently delivered the engineering of a number of yachts and passenger vessel projects with sustainable hybrid or fully electric propulsion systems, such as the Queen Miri and the new SFK ferries in Kiel. Other recent projects include commercial vessels for NIOZ and Dutch Rijkswaterstaat, as well as a highly customised luxury 21m sailing catamaran and a number of private superyacht conversion projects.
