One of the most interesting challenges is the development of a new vessel tailored to the requirements of the ship owner. The starting point is always the intended use of the vessel and the sailing area conditions. These are defined in a design brief and functional breakdown, developed in close cooperation with the ship owner. The concept design of commercial ships often calls for innovative and well-considered solutions.

Once the initial design concept has been established, the next step is a comprehensive set of hydrodynamic and structural analyses. These analyses are carried out using specialized software to assess resistance and seakeeping behaviour.

Upon request, Marimecs can assist in the selection of a suitable shipyard and major equipment, and provide supervision during the construction process, including commissioning. In addition to delivering complete new designs, Marimecs can also be part of the ship owner’s and builder’s design team.

With long-standing experience in both workboats and super yachts, one of Marimecs’ core activities is the conversion and modification of existing vessels. The team has extensive experience with complex conversions aimed at extending the useful life of vessels, adapting them to new operational requirements, or enabling alternative future use across both commercial and high-end yacht sectors.
